Creating Strong, Evidence-Based Proposals, Theses, and Other Documents

Don’t let your good ideas get dismissed as unsubstantiated bs simply because you didn’t do the background work to find supporting evidence. In this series of workshops, you’ll learn how to craft strong proposals, theses/dissertations, and other professional or academic papers and presentations that place your ideas in context and clearly show that your ideas have merit. The series is in three stand-alone sections, each about one hour long, and offered twice each semester. You must register for each part separately.

Part 2: Finding and Vetting External Documents or Data as Evidence To Support Your Ideas.

Lawyers make extensive use of evidence and witnesses to convince a jury of a person’s guilt or innocence. You need to do the same in your papers or presentations to convince your audience to accept your ideas and in many cases to act on them. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to find and evaluate your ‘witnesses’ and ‘evidence’ to prove your case.
