I’m Not BSing You and I Can Prove It! [Part 3] In-Person / Online

Creating Strong, Evidence-Based Proposals, Theses, and Other Documents

Don’t let your good ideas get dismissed as unsubstantiated bs simply because you didn’t do the background work to find supporting evidence. In this series of workshops, you’ll learn how to craft strong proposals, theses/dissertations, and other professional or academic papers and presentations that place your ideas in context and clearly show that your ideas have merit. The series is in three stand-alone sections, each about one hour long, and offered twice each semester. You must register for each part separately.

Part 3: Citing Evidence As Proof

For maximum impact, any external documentation you find and use needs to be clearly cited so your audience knows who or what you’re referring to, and so they can review that information for themselves if they have doubts. The workshop will NOT cover specific style guides, such as APA or MLA.

Register for parts 1 & 2.

As an additional tool for citing evidence as proof, the library offers regular workshops on using Zotero, an automated citation management and formatting system. For more information see here https://iit.libcal.com/event/9586516
